What we collect, and why
| What | Why | Our basis |
| Name, email address, country | To register your vote and make sure one person votes once | Our legitimate interest in running a fair vote |
| The votes you cast | To count them and publish the result | Our legitimate interest in running a fair vote |
| How you found us | To understand which channels bring people to the vote | Our legitimate interest |
| Your marketing choices | To send you only what you asked for | Your consent |
| Purchase and billing details | To sell you a table, seat or package and to meet our tax obligations | Contract, and legal obligation |
| Guest names for the event | Because the venue requires a named guest list | Contract |
Who else sees it
Only the companies that make this work, and only what each of them needs: Netlify for hosting, Supabase for the vote, Airtable for our own records, Mailchimp for email, Stripe for payment, and Resend for verification codes.
We never sell your data and we never hand your details to a partner or anyone else. If you agree to hear from our partners, we send those messages ourselves, on their behalf.
How long we keep it
Votes and registrations for three years after the ceremony, so a result can be verified if it is ever questioned. Marketing contacts until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not contact you again. Purchase records for as long as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, or tell us to stop using it. Email contact.us@djawards.com and we will act within one month.
Unsubscribing takes one click from any email and you never have to give a reason. If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD, or to the regulator in your own country.
Cookies
Only what the site needs to work, plus analytics if you agree to it. Your ballot is stored on your own device so you do not lose your picks, and it never leaves your device until you submit it.
